Executive and Life Coach
|
I have been working as a coach since 2002. Over the past six years as an executive coach I have worked with senior managers in a wide range of professions in both the private and the public sector. My work has also included working with directors and chief executives. Working at board level usually involves a huge workload and there is rarely time to explore issues in depth. There is also the issue of confidentiality as working at this level usually reduces the number of people within the organisation to whom you can talk openly. Trained to Masters level within counselling and psychotherapy, I understand the importance of trust and confidentiality, and work with directors and chief executives on a totally confidential basis. I also work with people who seek to achieve their own personal goals in life, people who perhaps are going through transitions and changes either personal or professional. The model that I use is an integration of proven methods from the fields of coaching and psychotherapy underpinned by a range of sound psychological theories. Recent issues with which I have worked include working with managers in the public sector over a five-month period, supporting them through stressful organisational change and facilitating their development as leaders of their teams. Other recent work has included working with a senior director helping that person to develop their self-knowledge as a manager and colleague as well as supporting them through a confidence-building process as they progressed through a period of transition looking for new focus and direction. The work is goal focused with clearly articulated outcomes tailored to the specific needs of each individual. The relationship between the coach and client is clearly defined and agreed at the outset. My style is warm, though pragmatic and feedback would seem to indicate that my clients find my style approachable and accessible.
